Former Member House of Representatives, Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG has joined other prominent Nigerians in rejoicing with Muslims for marking yet another year of Eid-el-fitr.

ABG in a Sallah message, expressed joy and gratitude to Allah for granting Muslims opportunity to witness the 2023 cycle of Eid-el-fitr after a month long  Ramadan fasting.

While enjoining the Muslim faithful to live by lessons learnt during the Ramadan period, the ex federal legislator stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among all religious adherents in Nigeria, saying no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere of animosity and hatred.

He emphasised the need for unity in diversity as panacea, which he noted, must be adopted by the masses to emancipated the present generation from misrule and deficit of governance currently experienced across the country.

“Nigerians, especially the masses who are always the victims of tribal and religious frictions ignited by unscrupulous politicians to achieve their selfish and inordinate desires that hatred for one another due to differences in faiths will get us nowhere but perpetual inertia.

“We must extricate ourselves from the clutches of people who do not mean well for this country by showing love for one another and assisting the needy amongst us so they too could live happily with their families.

“This is the teaching in all our scriptures which must be part of our lives if We must bequeath a good legacy to the younger generation so that the future will be bright.

“My joy is despite the economic hardship the masses are plunged into by men in authority, Nigerians still find time to be happy on occasions such as this by holidaying with their loved ones.

“I am optimistic of a better nation ahead where all indices of good governance are entrenched,” he said.

ABG who just clocked 50 years, few days ago, thanked God for His grace and mercy upon his life and that of his family, prayed for better days ahead for the country.
