The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed over 1,200 relief materials to flood victims in various affected communities in Ebonyi State.

Flagging off the relief materials at old Government House Abakaliki,  the wife of the governor, Mrs Ukamaka Maudlin Nwifuru urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials as Ebonyi State Government is ever ready to support them and ensure that they are accommodated in all the programmes and policies of government for their overall wellbeing.

She also commended NEMA for  prompt response to alleviate the plights of the flood victims in the state.

The relief materials distributed range from bags of rice, beans, garri, bedsheets, among others.

In an interview with some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Nwankwo Agness and Florence Ugochi all applauded the efforts of NEMA in the distribution of the relief materials, saying that they lost all their farms and houses as a result of flooding that took place  few years ago.

The National Emergency Management Agency is an agency in Nigeria.
