Ebonyi Govt Blames Opposition Forces  For Sit-At-Home Order

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has accused opposition forces for being responsible for the sit-at-home order in Ebonyi and therefore, enjoined all the citizens of the state to go about their normal businesses as security agencies are on ground to ensure adequate security of lives and property across the state.

The governor who is not happy with the security situation in the state, charged indigenes of the state to disregard the purported sit-at-home as it is the figment of the imagination of the opposition forces to scare people away.

In statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr.Uchenna Orji, further stated that no life nor property was lost in the incident and therefore, called on the citizens of the state to go about their normal businesses as security agencies ever ready apprehend anybody causing havoc in the state.

“The State Government has noted the tension generated in the state today over the purported sit-at-home order by non state actors and the apprehensions that followed the unfounded rumours and the needless social media propaganda twisting  the  situation of things in the state which is aimed at frightening and alarming the people of the state.

“Members of the public are enjoined to disregard the rumours of the purported enforcement of sit-at-home in the state as they are false and nothing but the figment of the imagination of enemies of the state fanned by opposition forces to scare the law abiding citizens of the state. 

“ It is noteworthy to mention that no house was burnt and no killing was recorded in Ebonyi State or any part thereof. The Governor has directed that Security agencies and Ebubeagu Security outfit should constantly patrol the city and the various Local Government Areas. 

“Members of the public are enjoined to go about their normal businesses without fear. All markets, business centres and public places are to remain open, while suspicious movements should be promptly reported to the nearest Police Post or security check point or call: 07013440807 or 07064515001

“The State reiterates its unflinching commitment to the Security of lives and properties of the inhabitants of the State and therefore directs all security agencies and Ebubeagu Security Outfit to neutralize any miscreant found with a gun and or dangerous weapon in the State.

“ Ebonyi State is safe and all the antics of the  enemies of the state must be resisted by Ebonyi people.”
