For the second time in two days, immediate past Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello presented a staff of office to a paramount ruler in the state this time from Kogi Central.
While he presented a similar symbol of office to the Ohimegye Igu of Koton-Karfe Kingdom, HRM. Saidu Akawu Salihu midweek the Thursday presentation was done in favour of new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje.
The new Ohimegye Igu of Koton Karfe was installed following the dethronement and banishment of his predecessor, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto while the installation fiesta in down town Okene Thursday was as a result of the demise of the then Ohinoyi Dr. Ado Ibrahim.
The coronation fiesta was a stock taking event of top notchers of Ebira Kingdom who dotted the globe as they simmered in the unfriendly scorching sun in the central senatorial district of Kogi state to register their presence as the celebrator wore the royal crown.
Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State reiterated his commitment to the traditional institutions in Kogi state and assured the Traditional ruler of continuous support from the incoming administration of Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
He said “I want to call on all the sons and daughters of Ebiraland that we should all come together and rally round our Ohinoyi of Ebiraland for the greatness, development and security of our land”.
Gov. Bello commended all the contestants for the coveted stool of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland for the spirit of sportsmanship they displayed having confirmed to them the approved due process that led to the ascension.
His words “God Almighty has enthroned Alh. Dr. Ahmed Tijani Anaje out of the seventy eminently qualified contestants. I appreciate statesmanship and the display of maturity through the process of selecting the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland”.
Born on 29th June, 1974 into the family of late Alhaji Muhammed Anaje Aliyu of Asuwe Clan, Dr. Tijani Anaje attended Seifudeen Primary School, Okengwe where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1983.
He attended Ebira Muslim Community College Okengwe (EMCCO) in Okene LGA of Kogi State where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1993.
After his secondary school education, he started his Islamic Studies at the Sharafudeen Madrasat Okengwe under the leadership of Mukadam Alhaji Yakubu Ta’aba.
After obtainimg a Diploma in Applied Psychology from University of Jos,
Alhaji (Dr.) AhmedTijani Muhammed Anaje was enlisted into the Nigerian Army in the year 1995 as 39 Regular intake and was decorated as Warrant Officer on the 13th of October, 2021 shortly before his ascension to the stool of Ohi of Okengwe/Okene.
