Reverend Philip Omoniyi of Bethel Baptist Church, Kaduna has said that Nigeria requires prayers from every individual for seeking the face of God for directions.
He said this after his message on Friday,  adding that the leadership of the nation  also needs to seek the face of God on the way forward.
The cleric explained that what is going on Nigeria today requires divine intervention, and for anybody who is going to lead a nation  in such a trying period, he has to go beyond using head knowledge,  and  seek the face of God for direction.
Reverend Omoniyi cited Genesis 26, when there was a time  similar to what is going on in Nigeria today.
“But the joy for Israel then is that, he sought the face of God and heard from God, in what God said to him,  solutions were found and he stood out among his equals.
“It was recorded that he got a breakthrough. For Nigeria to record a breakthrough, we need to hear from God,” he said.
He said that Easter period is all about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Death is a state of hopelessness but resurrection brings about hope and new life,” he emphasized.
He urged people not to lose hope in God in this period, but keep on doing the right things and trusting in God, assuring that their breakthrough was not far, even in this rough and touching times.
He emphasised that Christians should remember the main reason why Christ died at this season.
“Easter is not just eating rice, drinking and misbehaving.
It is a time for that life Christ gave us through his death and resurrection to be reflected upon. It is a time of generousity, to have sober reflections, a time of joy, we should examine ourselves to ensure that we are back on track,” he added.
