Discipline: Provost FCE Zaria Warns Students, As College  Matriculates 1,712

The Provost Federal College of Education, Zaria, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe  has warned students to toe the path of honour both within and outside the college as it enjoys  reputation for producing excellent teachers for the nation.

He gave the warning at the matriculation ceremony of 1,712  NCE Part time students  for the 2023/2024 academic session held at the College Multi Purpose Hall at the weekend.

Dr. Balarabe said, that the college abhors any form of display of anti social behaviors, especially as it concerns examination malpractice, indecent dressing and unlawful associations (Cultism) and drug abuse.

The provost maintained that as a reputed teacher training institution, students must be reminded of the need to watch their moral and social behaviors from day one.

According to him, the purpose of teacher training college like FCE Zaria is to prepare fully qualified professional teachers who will later in life help prepare their own students not only to learn and pass examination, but to live respectable and acceptable lives in  their communities.

He advised the students to be moving with their ID cards and to be vigilant of the people around them.

Also advised them to be security conscious and alert the situation as the college has installed CCTV cameras at all the nooks and crannies of the college of the college for surveillance of activities of staff and students.

Speaking on the landmark achievement by the college, the provost said,the college is undergoing tremendous changes and transportations in line with global best practice.

He added that the college beliefs that the wave of digitalization is affecting every facet of our lives, therefore they embark on the digitalization in teaching and learning.

The college has introduced Computer Based Test in GSE examination and advised the students to prepare their minds to Know some basic computer skills.

Dr. Suleiman Balarabe urged the students to devote their time, energy and commitment to reading and learning in order to become great teachers.
