*Seeks massive protest against DSS

The Concerned Northern Forum, has decried what it described as the continued “illegal” detention of the Sarkin Hausawan Lagos, Alhaji Aminu Yaro in connection to Godwin Emefiele’s arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The forum described the detention as a violation of human rights and disrespect for the rule of law.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the forum, Mohammed Danlami today, said, “We don’t see any legal reason for the DSS to continue to hold such a respected figure in detention, a community leader and renowned business man along with his wife.
“This is barbaric, we detest and stand against it, it is not done anywhere in the world, it is not democratic, only under military dictatorship will such a thing happen.
According to the law, the statement believes that accused persons are innocent until evidence is produced before a competent court to justify their conviction, saying that no such evidence has been produced against Alh. Aminu Yaro or his wife, yet the DSS continues to hold them in detention.
The forum opined that the DSS is on siege and witch hunt against certain Nigerians which is unprofessional of them, stressing that their mandates and responsibilities are defined, sticking to them is the ideal and professional way to go, as a security agency, they should be the number one promoter of the law, to continue to hold innocent Nigerians over baseless allegations where there is a court order against it is in no way close to been legally friendly or professional.
According to the statement, an innocent man built reputation, his life and that of his family is treated like it means nothing by the nation’s security agency, saying that as concerned Northerners, they would not let this pass by, but will seek President Bola Tinubu’s help to end the injustice, siege and witch hunt by the DSS on all Nigerians.
The forum believes that the allegations against Alh. Aminu Yaro and his wife are baseless and no justification for their continued detention without any definition.
The forum appealed to President Tinubu to call for the immediate release of Sarkin Hausawan Lagos from DSS illegal detention and called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to conform to the order given by court and release Alh. Aminu Yaro and all those in illegal detention.
It also called on Nigerians to come out in mass for a peaceful protest against the leadership of the DSS over disrespect for the rule of law and acting without professionalism.
