Deputy Police Commissioner  Allegedly Commits Suicide, Remains  Found Hanging In His Room

A  Deputy Commissioner of Police with the Force Criminal and Investigation Department, Alagbon, Lagos State, DCP Gbolahan Oyedemi has reportedly committed suicide in his private house in Ogbomoso, his country home.

New Nigerian gathered that the late DCP who was a one time Aide De Camp to former Governor of Oyo State, late Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala was found dead hanging in his private house in Ogbomosho.

Late DCP Oyedemi was said to have on arrival in Ogbomosho for the Easter celebration, reportedly asked his aides at the weekend to go to their various towns to celebrate Easter with their family members.

A source said the dead body of DCP Oyedemi was found hanging in his house on Monday as the former ADC stays alone whenever he  comes home for Easter celebrations.

The source said, “Yes, he committed suicide. His body was found hanging in his house yesterday (Monday). He stays alone, and he normally comes home for Easter celebrations.

“This time, he told his aides to go and celebrate with their family members in their various homes. Only God knows what could have prompted him to commit suicide.”

The Police Public Relations Officer of FCID, Alagbon, DSP Eguaoje Funmilayo, confirmed Oyedemi’s death, saying, the circumstances surrounding his death were still sketchy.

“No one can tell specifically what the cause of his death is until an investigation is carried out. There is no official statement from the Inspector General of Police yet.

“So, I won’t be able to tell you anything about it for now. No official statement is approved by the IG,” she added.
