The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Monday, presented awards to the winners of the 2022 Kaduna Innovation Challenge.
The winners emerged from the STEM & Creativity Festival that held during the commemoration of Kaduna State at 55 on May 27, 2022.
Dr. Hadiza said, “I am pleased and delighted to present this awards to the winners at the recently concluded of creative festival as part of commemoration of the creation of Kaduna State 55 years ago.”
She said, “today’s presentation is significant. This is because Kaduna State innovations challenge was rigorous, experience filled.
“It was a two days event, as it stimulated the minds of everyone of you, so that you develop ideas that will derive problem solving using science technology engineering and mathematics especially.”
She noted that about 500 students participated.
“Therefore, you are exposed to working in groups, to solve real world problems bothering on the sustainable development goals.
“Consequently, you are supposed to create solutions that will be inplementatable. You’ve gained experience from exposure in business, product design, mentoring and entrepreneur.
“However, we have awarded prizes to those of you that excelled, to those that participated also, I want to say a very big congratulations.
“It is not everybody that wins goals, but it is just a call and a plea for all students who participated to also step up their their game so that next time, they will also win some prizes.
“You should try as much as possible for those of you who have won, to better your game so that they don’t beat you”.
She said, Kaduna State is committed on talent and skills development.
“Because we know that it contributes to human capital development.
“This is the very reason why el-Rufai administration has continually initiated wide ranging reformed policies and programmes to meet the needs of our youth, especially looking at their skills.
“We are on road to making Kaduna State a knowledge state economy,” she said.
Dr Hadiza congratulated the winners of the innovative challenge and prayed, “may your future continue to be brighter.”
She said , “I particularly appreciate Kaduna ICT Hub and all partners that supported this initiative and Kaduna at 55.
“We need to put a system that will enable us deliberately identify and support young innovators and those with great endowments,” she said.
The top three winners are of the challenge are;
1st Place: Al Mannar Academy
2nd Place: Essence International School
3rd Place: Kamlick Schools.
