Sixty eight inmates have regained  freedom from Zaria Correctional Facilities under the decongestion exercise which was flagged off by the Minister for Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The minister was represented by the Assistant Legal Adviser to the Minister, Barrister John Otuko, who said their release is based on the Federal Government’s efforts to decongest  correctional facilities across the nation.
Otuko urged those that are lucky to get themselves out that they should be of good conduct and behavior as well as  use the opportunities they got by learning something that can sustain their life.
He warned them not to repeat the crime they committed, which led them to be in the correctional facility.
Earlier in his address, the Comptroller, Kaduna State Command  Dr. Ado Saleh told the inmates that their freedom is as a result of President Bola Tinubu’s gesture.
He added that after paying off their fines and compensation as well  as gave each the sum of N10.000 for transport to go home.
