COVID-19 Pushed Kaduna Into Performing Better – Deputy Gov

The Acting Governor of Kaduna

State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, on Wednesday said COVID 19 actually pushed the state to do much better in policy re-forms which is taking place in the state.
The Deputy Governor expressed this when the Executives of  Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Kaduna State Chapter paid a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

According to her, in the last few days, Friday’s will be working from home without working in the office, and you have to have the ICT infrastructure for you to be able to work from your home not physically to be in office.
She noted that, “its  something that we’re really really looking at,  I am sure it is not only in Kaduna State but most places around the world had to grow up in the face of COVID because you needed to find means of working even without  being physically in the office.
“However, in Kaduna it was just great, although it was impeding on our economy, this gave us that push in that we have being deliberating for a long time.”

The deputy Governor said, “with people coming up now we have to talk about training very seriously, there’s was a time we had this training at Kaduna Polytechnic  for civil servant it was like a jamboree, we were being taken in batches,  I think we need to have a structured training at the end so that everybody will be on the same page.” 
She further said, “people attended that training but I am sure after the training quite a lot of us forgot what we learnt, we wanted a situation that all transactions will be properly stored, people still rely on paper but with your coming on board, we will have all our quest for everybody being on the same page, having that technical service and  pushing everyone to be ICT comply on the same page.”

Earlier, the Chairperson of the society,  Executives of  Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Kaduna Chapter,  Margaret John David celebrated with the state for the inclusion of women in it’s administration.
She thanked the state for their kind gesture to meet with them, saying that their aim is to educate children, carrying out advocacy in the society and collaborating with ICT in the state.

She applauded Kaduna State Government for deepening ICT adoption in the state public service, saying the strides have earned Governor Nasir el-Rufai the “Digital Governor of the year award” for 2020 and 2021.
