Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, Kanam Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. (Dr). Dayyabu Yusuf Garga has again, called on citizens to present themselves at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) office in Dengi, the administrative headquarters, Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State to collect their PVCs, if they are yet to do so.
This he said, is the only legal means through which they can freely exercise their franchise, by so doing, ushering in responsive and responsible leadership that would address the needs of the people.
He said his administration has made issuance and collection of PVCs easy and safe, hence encouraging citizens not to fail to turn up for the collection on or before the February 5 deadline.
Commending both INEC Staff for doing a good job since the beginning of the exercise and citizens for responding, he reassured that his administration shall not relent in its commitment to upholding human rights, dignity and harmonious coexistence.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Plateau State has expressed concerns over the inability of people to go and pick their PVCs ahead of the election.
