Communal Support During Ramadan: DAMMF, HOA Foundation,  Fitila Movement Unite To Provide Essential Food Support In Odogbolu

In a spirit of compassion and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan, the Detola Abike Mogaji Memorial Foundation (DAMMF), Hon Oluwaseun Adekunmi (HOA) Foundation, and Fitila Movement have joined forces to provide essential food support for Iftar to residents of the Odogbolu community in Ogun State.

This collaborative effort and shared commitment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing commitment of DAMMF, HOA Foundation, and Fitila Movement to serve the community and promote unity through various initiatives. 

Over the past three years, these organizations have undertaken projects ranging from educational excursions to historic sites, back-to-school programs, feeding programs, healthcare interventions hygiene promotion events, medical interventions, and employability skill training among youths.

The 2024 Ramadan Iftar food distribution initiative aimed to alleviate hunger and foster unity within the community, was carried out across various mosques throughout Odogbolu. 

The collaborative effort was led by Hon Ladejobi Shuaib, the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government and convener of Fitila Movement.

Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib expressed heartfelt appreciation for the collaborative effort and the gesture was a demonstration of love and solidarity towards the grassroots population emphasizing the importance of ensuring every member of the community feels valued and included.

Hon. Oluwaseun Adekunmi Oguntade, the promoter of HOA Foundation, emphasized the critical need to address hunger, particularly among fasting elderly and women. “By distributing staple food items such as rice and garri, we can contribute to the well-being of our neighbors and alleviate hunger in our communities,” said Hon. Oluwaseun Adekunmi Oguntade.

Mogaji Olatunde, the promoter of Detola Abike Mogaji Memorial Foundation (DAMMF), reiterated the significance of collective support, especially during challenging times. “Through our collaboration, we aim to foster unity, generosity, and compassion, embodying the true spirit of Ramadan,” said Mogaji Olatunde.

In honour of his late mother, Adetola Abike Mogaji, whose legacy inspired the iftar initiative, Mogaji Olatunde offered prayers for love, compassion, and forgiveness.

The beneficiaries of the food distribution expressed profound gratitude towards the donors, emphasizing the timeliness of the support in meeting their pressing needs. 

They encouraged more privileged individuals to extend love and support beyond the Ramadan period, underscoring the importance of ongoing community solidarity.
