COAS Inaugurates Highest Military Repelling Tower, Lateral Drift Trainer

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen Faruk Yahaya has inaugurated the highest military repelling tower with lateral drift trainer to enhance tactical and combat training of personnel.

Inaugurating the facility at the Nigerian Army School of Physical Training, Zaria, the COAS alongside  the commandant of the school, witnessed some demonstration  by men of the command.

Explaining to the COAS, the Commandant of the School, Brig Gen. Abdurraheem R. Bello said, “the repelling tower is the highest in Africa and Asia, and the tallest in the world, with 60 feet height.” He explained.

Brig. Gen Bello said the project will further enhance combatant and tactical training of soldiers in battle field and promote result oriented skills.

During the inauguration, the soldiers in the school  displayed some skills like self defence when terrorists attack them.
