A Coalition of Northern Youth groups has called on the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Dr. Ikedi Ohakim as a minister in his cabinet.This was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Suleiman Liba on behalf of the coalition, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday.
The coalition stressed that if Mr President is looking for very qualified persons to be made ministers in his cabinet, individuals who will contribute immensely to the success of his administration and the development of Nigeria, then he has such individuals at his disposal.
“One of the most qualified Nigeria in that regard is in the person of Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, who has been tested in every endeavor of service, he had the opportunity to serve in and can be very trusted. He held positions including serving as governor of Imo State from 2007 to 2011 and has remained the best the state has produced till date.
“With Dr Ikedi Ohakim, it has and will always be the case of competency, rather than other sentiments. It is on this note we are calling on Mr President to consider this call, like he has always done by always listening to plights of young Nigerians and appoint the erstwhile Governor as one of the interest of the Eastern region of the country,” the coalition said.
According to them, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim is a man who’s antecedents of experience speak volumes and is out there for everyone to see.
“Once again, may we reiterate our sincere commitment to this administration, ably led by our most Distinguished President, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Surely, Nigeria will be great again, the early signs are very glaring, we have never been more convinced that Nigeria is on an upward trajectory than now.
God bless Nigeria,” they prayed.
The group’s that made up the coalition are, Concerned Northern APC Youth Forum, Northern Based Igbo Support Group for Asiwaju,
BATSAG and Arewa Youths for Asiwaju/Shettima.
