A former Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye has urged Nigerians to allow love to prevail over bitterness and hatred as Christians celebrate Christmas.
Elegbeleye in his yuletide message described love as the reason for Christmas.
He attributed the emergence of Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN as Ondo State Governor-elect as divine and timely.
According to him, Mr Akeredolu has buried any iota of bitterness in politics with his recent visit to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, in Alagbaka, Akure.
He commended Akeredolu’s challengers in the November 26 governorship election for ignoring the elections tribunal, a departure from the norm in most Nigerian states.
Elegbeleye stressed that the absence of litigation will allow the incoming governor to plan for developmental and life-touching programmes in different areas.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC who described Jesus Christ’s birth as the saving grace for mankind, urged Nigerians to imbibe his virtues for a better nation.
