President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emiefele.
This was contained in a State House statement on Friday evening, signed by a director information in the office of the Secretary of Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.
The governor of the nation’s apex bank has also been directed to hand over affairs of his office to deputy director operations Folashodun Adebisi who would act as acting head of the bank, pending conclusion of investigation of the embattled governor.
The statement added that the suspension of Emiefele was to allow investigation of affairs of the bank under his authority and in line with banking reform of the present administration.
