The son of late President of Nigeria, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, Shehu Yar’adua has tied the marital knot with Yasir Mammanoor Sheriff in Maiduguri Borno State.
The wedding Fatiha which took place at the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s family house located along Giwa Barracks had in attendance, President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and his counterparts the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu and that of Jigawa, Abubakar Badaru.
Others in attendance included friends and associates of the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who is also the bride’s uncle, such as former Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Adamu Ma’azu, former Governor of Gombe, Senator Danjuma Goje and former Governor of Katsina, Alhaji Ibrahim Shemma.
The list also includes, former Governor of Kebbi, Senator Adamu Aleiro, former Governor of Bauchi, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, former Head of Service, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, former Governor of Zamfara, Senator Ahmed Yarima Bakura and NNPC Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Mele Kyari Kolo, among others.
The Emir of Daura, Umar Farauk Umar was also in attendance and stood in as the groom’s father, who also accepted the wedding vows on behalf of the groom, while His Eminence, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El Kanemi stood in for the bride.
The wedding vows were exchanged and accepted by both representatives of the bride and the groom, with the bride price of 24 gold coins.
Others represented were the former Governor of Kano State who is also the NNPP Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, representative of the Oba of Benin and representative of the Emir of Gwandu, were also acknowledged.
