A female professional boxer, Blessing Oluwasegun has cried out, saying the British High Commission in Nigeria is not helping her to progress in her chosen profession which is boxing.

According to the lady boxer, she’s about to miss the opportunity to

fight in the United Kingdom all because her passport which she

submitted alongside with her Manager and Coach is yet to be returned by the High Commission, as such,  she’s been unable to honour the fight she’s been contracted for in the United Kingdom.

The licensee of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, added that Icon

Sports Promotions in association with Boxeer Promotions both of U.K

(Boxing Promotional outfits registered with the British Boxing Board of Control)  contracted her to box against British Olympian female boxer, Laureen Price of Ystrad Mynach, Wales.

The United Kingdom’s boxer was meant to make her pro debut against on June 11, 2022 at the Wembley Arena, London, United Kingdom.

“We filed our visa application as a group on the 6th of May 2022, at

the TLS CONTACT Centre located at Dan Etibeth’s house, along Mobolaji Bank Anthony way Ikeja, Lagos, but to our amazement the visa of the coach was granted since the 6th of June 2022 and to expire on the 6th of Dec. 2022, but my own passport and the manager’s passport are yet to be released until date.

“We have been to the TLS CONTACT center severally since then still no passport, no visa. I am the main actor in this show, without me the Coach can’t go thus it baffles me why the Coach who’s meant to accompany me would be given a visa and passport returned on time, whilst my passport and that of my Manager, Mr. Mutiu Adewale who paid for our visa’s would still be hanging wherever we don’t know,” Blessings said.

She clarified that the promoters have assured her that the fight has

been postponed due to the fact that she’s yet to secure visa with the

assurance that as soon as her visa is granted, a new date would be

announced.

“I am a licensed female professional boxer, and I can be Googled on boxrec, my identity on boxrec is ID#901083, with four professional fights. I am appealing to the British High Commission to please look into my issue on time so that I do not lose this once in a lifetime opportunity, my God given talent is boxing and I believe I will

excel through the sport,” Blessing pleaded.
