Following the unexpected invasion and attack at the office of Ngboejeogu Central Security at Ngbo Court, one security personnel was killed, others sustained varying degree of injuries, while properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed during the attack.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Ohaukwu LGA, Hon. Ikechukwu Odono stated that the attack, claimed the life of a female local security personnel.
He further stated that several security men have been battered, humiliated, abused and murdered gruesomely, which demoralizes the frantic efforts of their vigilantes from safeguarding their localities, adding that efforts are in top gear by security operatives to ensure the culprits of these heinous crime are apprehended and brought to justice.
“We are saddened by the cruel and bloody invasion of faceless gunmen on the Office of Ngboejeogu Central Security at Ngbo Court.
“The attack claimed the life of a security personnel, left one injured, destruction of some property and looting of a motorcycle.
“Severally, our security men have been battered, humiliated, abused and murdered gruesomely, which demoralizes the frantic efforts of our vigilantes in safeguarding our localities.
“Sorrowfully, we mourn and console the families of the departed security personnel that lost her life on active duty, the one that is injured, operatives of Ngboejeogu Central Security, Ngboejeogu Clan and entire Ohaukwu.
“Efforts are on top gear by security operatives to ensure the culprits of these heinous crime are apprehended and brought to justice.
“Resolve to achieve peace in Ohaukwu Local Government can never be undermined by anybody, we urge our people to be vigilante in their environment and report any illegal movement to the nearest police station,” he said.
All efforts made to get the reaction of Ebonyi State Police Command proved abortive as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) did not respond.
