*lauds State Assembly members for denying alleged impeachment plot

The Political Awareness Group (PAG ) on Sunday asked the Oyo State Police command to beef up security round the state deputy governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.
PAG in a statement made available to newsmen in ibadan by its Chairman, Barrister AbdWaheed Olowonjaye stressed that the call became necessary in view of the “save my soul’ petition filed by the Deputy Governor”.
The group in the statement said the Commissioner of Police in the state should not treat the case of the alleged threat to life of the Deputy Governor with levity and put in place machineries to ensure his safety .
While stressing that doing this would go a long way in vindicating the police of any ulterior motive, the group warned that any plans to impeach the Deputy governor will plunge the state into more crisis .
Describing as ill-motivated and unwarranted the purported plans to impeach the Deputy Governor PAG added that such experience in the past dragged the state to a decade of decadence.
Lauding members of the Oyo State House of Assembly for coming out to deny the planned impeachment, the group advised the lawmakers not to allow themselves to be used as agents to destabilize the state,
