Be Loyal, Dedicated To Nigeria, Arebgesola Charges Corrections Service Officer-Cadets

Nigeria’s Minister Of Interior, Rauf Aregbeshola has enjoined newly passed out Assistant Superintendents of Corrections Service to be loyal, faithful and dedicated to country and all efforts of keeping the nation safe.

Aregbesola gave the charge in Kaduna, while reviewing Passing Out Parade(POP) for Course 28 of Assistant Superintendents of Nigeria Custodial Service at Corrections Training Facility in Kaduna on Friday.

The Minister urged the 117 officer-cadets to avoid any injurious acts capable of harming the integrity and peace of the country, adding that interests of the nation should be paramount in the cause of discharging their regimental duties as custodians and mangers of inmates and facilities.

He reiterated resolve of the federal government to equip,train and provide state of the art facilities for personnel to make the job of rehabilitating inmates to becoming responsible members of the society after serving terms easier.

He disclosed that new residential quarters had been built and old ones renovated across the country for comfort of  officers and men of the service.

“The present adminstration is dedicated to improving service condition of all personnel of the corrections service so they can give in their best for the job of managing inmates and inculcating discipline and skills into them as they serve their terms.

“It is in this light that officers have been promoted to next ranks to encourage them and give sense of belonging to deserving and dedicated men in the service.

“I am excited and satisfied with quality of training, knowledge and discipline impacted on these 171 cadets being passed out today.

“I bring you the best wishes of the president who asked me to send his regards and hopes that you will reciprocate gestures of the Nigerian people who find you worthy of managing inmates so that they could be responsible members of the society and above all, keeping the country safe.

“Promoting community safety is paramount and an important function that cannot be compromised which I believe you are chosen by virtues of your profession to be vital actors.

“This ceremony is coming at a time the service is unveiling its new uniforms to conform with transitioning from prison to correctional centres to keep up with time and democratic convince,” he said.
