As Nigeria joins the world to mark the World Women’s Day, the Bayelsa State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has celebrated its women folks specially with respect to the dignity of women and gender sensitivity.
The celebration which was marked with a paper presentation titled ” A Peaceful Home- Front For A Productive Office Work”, witnessed a lot of fun fare.
According to a release by the its public relations officer, the Command decided to celebrate the female officers in a special way to enable them enjoy a harmonious working relationship with their male counterpart and live peacefully at the home front.
It stated that the Nigeria Immigration Service is one of the Fore-most gender sensitive Service in Nigeria,with a record breaking statistics of high ranking women holding offices as at January,2022.
” There are two Deputy Comptrollers General (DCGs),one heading the Finance and the other heading the Migration Directorates. Also Senior Female Officers of the rank of Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs) heading the Passport and Other Travel Documents Directorate and Investigation and Compliance as overseers,others are the heads of Budgets,Visa and Residency,Official passport,Migration, at the service headquarters,and three(3) Zonal Coordinators at three (3)Zonal Offices Zone ‘B’kaduna, Zone’E’Owerri, Zone’F’ Ibadan respectively.
This is a gender balance and Sensitive Service,today in Bayelsa State Command,we are celebrating the International Women’s Day with a lecture for the Female officers to enable them enjoy a harmonious working relationship with their men counterpart and live peacefully at the home front.
the theme chosen for the paper presented”A Peaceful Home front for a Productive Office Work” A total of 25 Female Officers were in attendance cutting across the ranks from Deputy Comptroller to the least rank,including the new entrants or newly recruited.
The celebration is to cement a good working relationship between the female and male officers,even though the system only addresses everyone as Officers and Men,on these occasion the women were specially celebrated with respect to the dignity of women and gender sensitivity”, it emphasised
