ASUTEKOM Alumni President Urges Members To Give Back To Alma Mater

President of old students of Asutan Ekpe Comprehensive Secondary School (ASUTEKOM), Okop Ndua Erong in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Mr .Edet Ndua has enjoined  members of the group to come up with ideas that would rekindle the lost glory of the institution.
Ndua gave the charge when the body marked her end year Get-together Party at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Information Drive, off IBB Avenue, Uyo. 
He recalled that the School otherwise known as ASUTEKOM established in 1974, with him as one of the pioneer students, was the best Science, Technical and Commercial School in the old South Eastern State until it metamorphosed into the present Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School.
The President said that the relocation of the institution to its present site has equally contributed to eclipse of their Alma Matta despite the quality of graduates it has produced, who are today making waves at the world stage.
He advised that as the new year beckoned, members should collaborate,  visit the school and determine what legacies can be put in place that would stand the test of time especially as the institution’s fifty years of establishment comes up in the next two years .
Mr. Ndua, also called for a review of the Association’s Constitution to reflect the current situation in the Country and and the State.
He expressed happiness for the large turn of members and urged them to sustain the tempo for the good of the institution and the state at large .
Some of the members who spoke with Journalists on issues of cults activities in Secondary Schools as raised during the meeting said that parents should question certain behavioural patterns exhibited by their Children and also ensure that the fear of God is instilled in them.
Highlights of the event was a special moment dedicated to the Vice Presidents, Mr. ImoAbasi Nkanga for the Celebration of of his birthday with members during the event.
Mr. Nkanga used the ceremony to thank God for His faithfulness upon his life .
