Top members of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) are expected to attend a grand reception ceremony planned by Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the party in honour of Senator John James Akpanudoedehe on Saturday at Ibom Hall Uyo.

A statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary in the state, Solomon Jonny and obtained by our correspondent in Uyo, indicated that  the dignitaries  include governors, ministers and National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The statement added that the reception is aimed at honouring Senator Akpanudoedehe for his meritorious service to the party as national secretary between June 2020 and March 2022.
According to the statement, “the grand reception in Uyo on Saturday, April 16, 2022 is in honour of Senator John James Akpanudoedehe.
“The reception is organized by the State Chapter of APC in honour of Senator Akpanudoedehe for his meritorious service to the party as national secretary between June 2020 and March 2022.
“We are expecting thousands of our members and dignitaries from across the country, including some of our governors, our national chairman, National Assembly members, ministers and Akwa Ibom people from the 31 local government areas.”
Also speaking,  Obong Augustine Ekanem, the state party chairman, noted, “This grand reception is a token of our appreciation to Senator Akpanudoedehe for serving the party so selflessly since its formation in 2013. His service as the national secretary for almost two years was particularly outstanding.”
“Senator Akpanudoedehe is a founding member of APC. He was in fact, a member of the Committee that drafted the APC Constitution in 2013.
Before then, in 2011, he ran for the governor of Akwa Ibom State under ACN, one of the parties that fused together to form APC.”
