A group, the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Progressive Forum has demanded the immediate sacking of the Board Chairman Of National Ear Care Centre, Kaduna, Alhaji Garba Sani Dankani over alleged decamping from the APC and breaching of Section 84 (12) of the electoral act.

The group expressed this at an emergency press conference in Kaduna on Friday August 12, 2022, in which the text was jointly signed by its National Vice President and Secretary North West, Hon Jamilu Muhammed and Dr. Abdulrauf Abdullahi respectively, where they also alleged that Dankani is sabotaging the developmental agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It is unfortunate that we have to come to this extent to show our grievances against Alh Garba Sani Dankani a former member of the All Progressives Congress who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as Board Chairman of National Ear Care Centre Kaduna whom have been porting from the ruling party to other opposition parties who are critics of Mr President’s policies and programs.

“Dankani before the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari was invisible in the political space of Katsina State and APC at large.

“He contested primary elections in APC in 2019 for the Governorship seat of Katsina State and lost. Yet out of the magnanimity of President Buhari, he appointed him Board Chairman of National Ear Care Centre, Kaduna but we must say this is a mystery to us as stakeholders of our great party because his name was never found in the list approved by President Buhari,” the group said.

They explained that 2022 came and yet Dankani decamped from APC to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and didn’t secure the ticket. Alh Dankani moved to Action Alliance (AA) and got the ticket because they needed anyone irrespective of capacity to fill their seats and fortunately they got him.

” Find attached his poster of his new party and online Newspaper Publication release during his official declaration in his new Party the Action Alliance.

“On 8th January, 2022 a group of youths in Kaduna State called for his removal yet this hasn’t been done.

“His occupying an appointed seat as at today has gone contrary to Section 84 (12) of the electoral act that states that “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election”.

“This also contravenes the circular issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation based on the electoral act signed by Mr President into law.

“This simply means that all political appointees seeking election must resign before June 3rd 2022 when INEC expects that all issues of party primaries must have been resolved but in the case of Alh Garba Dankani he is still operating as the Board Chairman of National Ear Care Centre, Kaduna as an opposition political party member of Action Alliance,” they stressed.

The group cited examples of notable political leaders of their party, some former ministers, who resigned because of their political pursuit and many others.

“Why is Alh Dankani’s case different despite the fact that he is working against the party?
On this note today we make the following calls to President Muhammadu Buhari and Honorable Ministers of Health (Senior and State) and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“That having contravened Section 84 (12) of the electoral act, Mr. President should as a matter of urgency based on national interest, remove Alh. Garba Sani Dankani as Board Chairman of National Ear Care Centre with immediate effect based on his migration from our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC) to New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and now a gubernatorial candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Katsina State which clearly shows that he working against Mr President.

“That he should desist from parading himself as the Board Chairman of National Ear Care Centre, Kaduna with immediate effect.

“That the Federal Ministry of Health should take note of the observations raised by our formidable group and expedite action,” they demanded.

They warned that failure to take decisive decision on their factual and issue based demands, would demoralize the spirit of party faithful and thwart the success of the party in the forth coming elections.

“The time to act is now,” they stressed.
