A deity in Aladja Community,Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday said some indigenes of the community particularly young men died in the ongoing crisis between them and their Ogbe-Ijoh counterparts because they allegedly killed and ate a dog dedicated to it.
This is coming as one Efe Ogheneovo died three days ago for the alleged offence against the gods.
Some of those involved in the abominable act against the deity are now stricken with one ailment or the other at the time of this report.
Those not sick or dead yet are overtaken with fear of the unknown.
The Aladja deity had also threatened to kill others involved unless they replaced the dog and come to appease it.
The Aladja deity however assured that it will do justice to Aladja oppressors if it is appeased.
It was gathered that Ogheneovo had prior to his death led members of the community to consult the deity on the cause of death of persons who died before him when he fell sick.
It was learnt that the deity revealed that one Amama Ulo who was felled by Ogbe-ijoh in the ongoing crisis died for alleged conspiracy with those who killed and ate the dog.
Others who had died are Saha who was adopted with Moses Poroko and allegedly killed by the late Ogbe-Ijoh warlord Ebi Ikoro at NUPENG Camp,Berneth Island.
The 2nd Vice President of Aladja Community Council, Mr. Lucky Abeyi confirmed the report saying, “The deity owns the dog.”
As at the time of filing this report, there is total uneasy calm amongst the youth of the community.
