AK-SWAN Wallops Super Eagles Supporters Club 3-0 In Friendly

Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) landed 3-0 against Super Eagles Supporters Club in a friendly football match played at the Nest of Champions in Uyo on Sunday.

The friendly soccer encounter was part of the activities marking the 2021 end of the year’s Get-together Ceremony of the State Chapter of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Uyo. 
Played at the stadium’s training pitch, was according the organisers, an effort to fine-tune the relationship between the two sports stakeholders, whose rules in the development of Sports in the State and Nigeria cannot find be over-emphasised.
SWAN scored first two goals within 20 minutes of play and top up with another goal in the second half of the match which the former Senator representating Uyo Senatorial District at National Assembly, Sen. Effiong Bob performed the kick-off.
Speaking to Correspondent at the Stadium after the match, the Chairman of A Eagles Supporters Club, Mr Fred Dan said his club and SWAN are partners in the promotion of football in the Country.
“You can never seperate Super Eagles Supporters Club from SWAN, neither can you seperate SWAN from Super Eagles Supporters Club as far Sports development is concerned. Any attempt to separate, or remove any is likened to bathing a child in cool water and left the child without wearing clothes on him,” Dan said.

On his side, the SWAN team technical director, Mr. Justice Udousuro described the match as a useful exercise for the body, stressing that, apart from writing Sports, SWAN members can also do well on the field.
“The importance of the match played is to create more awareness to the club of the relationship between its and SWAN to continue to their best promoting and encouraging Sports in the state and in Nigeria in general.
“The match played on the best ground is also a test for SWAN members of their fitness to examine their fitness for healthy living, adding that regular exercises is good for all, Mr. Udousuro stated.
He called on the nation one team, Super Eagles to come to Akwa Ibom, use the best pitch to play, there there is a peacefully environment and best field for them to play and win matches for Nigeria.
Other highlights include presentation of Medals to participating teams and officials who grace the event. Among whom is the State Chairman of the Referees Asociation, Elder Joseph Bassey.
