The agricultural sector in Kaduna State has suffered serious set backs because of the security challenges.

Governor Nasiru Ahmed el-Rufa’i admitted this at the traditional Hawan Bariki in continuation of Eid-fitr celebrations organized by Zazzau Emirate, at Zaria Polo Club on Saturday.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, he said, the state government is supporting the armed forces to continue massively eliminating the criminal elements hiding in the forests.

The governor called on traditional rulers to make sure that adequate enlightenment campaign to their subjects is done on security challenges, to warn their children on the dangers ahead.

el-Rufa’i  expressed appreciation to the state council of chiefs and emirs for the support and cooperation his government recieved from the traditional institution particularly in ensuring the peaceful coexistence and the fight against insecurity.

He said, his government has introduced policies and programmes that affect emirates in order to ease steps of installing an emir if the need arises.

According to him, the main issue is to strengthen the emirates and to give them the recognition they deserve.

He appealed to the people of Kaduna State to give all the necessary support and cooperation to the governor elect, Senator Uba Sani for him to succeed.

In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli said  that Zazzau Emirate is happy with the roads constructed in Zaria and environs.

He said in the Zazzau Emirate, only Giwa Local Government is still suffering from insecurity.

He warned elected leaders not allow people to be their servants, instead, they should be servants of the people.

The emir congratulated Nigerians for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
