Adamawa Police Dislodges Criminal Network, Rescues Kidnapped Victims

In it’s effort to protecting the lives, property and maintain internal security, the Adamawa State Police Command  has  dislodged a criminal network in Gangtum District of Ganye Local.Government Area.

A statement by the police image maker, DSP Sueliman Nguroje states that, “the operation was carried out by operatives of Ganye Division and the Hunters of Ganye at Shiga da Niya Hill situated at a remote side of Gangtum village in Ganye Local Government Area, yielded positive results.

“The outcome of these successes followed up on cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, Cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others.”

The police said it recovered two locally fabricated guns after a duel with the notorious kidnappers and successfully rescued 60-year-old Abdullahi Buba, and Halima Ishaku, all residents of Sulti luga Ibi village, Sugu district, Ganye Local Government Area.


The victims were said to have been kidnapped by the gang on the 19/01/2022 and were taken to the hideout while negotiating for ransom.

The Police disclosed that Two (2) of the suspects were neutralized during the exchanged of fire while others escaped with bullet wounds

“The Commissioner of police Mohammed Ahmed Barde, while commending DPO Ganye, his men and Hunters for gallantry performance displayed, directs other DPOs to do same. 

“The CP calls on the populace to inform the police of anyone seen treating a bullet wound around their neighborhood,” it said.

He equally assured the good people of Ganye and Adamawa as a whole of the command’s commitment to keeping Adamawa State safe.
