AD NEC Disowns Chairmen, Upholds Oke as Ondo Guber Candidate

The National Executive Committee of Alliance for Democracy (AD), has resolved to forward the name of Chief Olusola Oke to INEC as her Governorship candidate for November 26, Governorship election in Ondo State.
Addressing a Press Conference in Akure at thge week end, said the party was misinformed about the goings on in the state concerning the candidacy of Chief Oke who has being discovered to be a sellable candidate.
Speaking on behalf of NEC, the National Vice Chairman North East, Alhaji Magaji Kwairanga disclosed that the party has already submitted the name of Oke and his Deputy, Alhaji Ganny Dauda to INEC.
His words, ”first and foremost, we wish to state that we are not in Ondo State to disparage our great party, AD and its candidate, Chief Olusola Oke who, by our findings, is the candidate of the masses of Ondo state”.
He also noted that, ” it is also important we make a necessary clarification on the status of the candidate of our party in the coming election. As we speak, Chief Oke’s name and his deputy has been duly submitted to INEC as the candidates of the party in the coming election, as stipulated by the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines”.
The NEC how ever noted that the National Chairman of the party, Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa has overstayed in office and he should not use his office to settle any personal rift with his kinsmen in the South West.
According to them, ” NEC has no issue and if there are issues relating to NEC meeting, which is internal affairs of the party, the issues will be handled internally”.
The meeting which was organised without the approval of the National Chairman and National Secretary was well attended by the National Deputy Organising Secretary, and Chairmen from Kaduna, Plateau, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kano and Kebbi states, and the National Vice Chairman North East.
