ABG Pays Tribute To General Attahiru 1 Year After Death

Former Federal legislator, Honourable Shehu Usman Bawa popularly known as ABG has eulogized virtues of immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru who died from an air mishap in Kaduna in May 2021.
ABG in a press statement, described the demise of Gen Attahiru as a colossal loss to Nigeria particularly at a time he noted the nation was grappling with several forms of insecurity.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain urged Federal and Kaduna State Government to cherish the fond memory of the fallen General for serving wholeheartedly.
“Attahiru was a great soldier, patriotic and a gentleman to the core. He came with lot of dreams and aspirations for Nigeria. He would have offered great things to us because he had the guts and all it takes to end Insecurity in the country” he added.
He stated that Attahiru was a thorough soldier who paid attention to details of operations and followed up with instructions until they were completely implemented by subordinates.
ABG said the demise of the infantry general was a  personal loss owing to the fact that Attahiru was a brother-in-law whose good memories he assured the family would cherish for a long time .
“General Attahiru was a good man, a caring father to his kids and a generous giver to all who crossed paths with him in the cause of discharging professional or personal duties.
“His contributions to growth and advancement of the nation’s military cannot be overemphasized because he invested time and energy to ensure a professional, efficient and passion driven career amongst men and officers in the army.
“He will be missed by the country for his devotion, patriotism and zeal to provide security to lives and uphold the sanctity of territorial integrity of Nigeria, ” he said.
