The National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Audu Titus Amba  has extolled His Excellency,   Bola  Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR Commander – In – Chief  Nigeria Armed Forces and Vice President Kashim Shetima GCON, upon their successful inauguration and take-over ceremony. 

He also applauded  ex President, Muhammadu  Buhari  GCFR,  over his numerous achievements and outstanding  strides in the Nigeria project.

 He noted that the commitment of the out going President to a seamless and peaceful transition to the new government is a reference point ,and an  evidence that President Buhari is a true democrat both in words and deed.He wished President Buhari the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Comrade Audu Titus Amba vowed to muster every needed support in favour of the new administration to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , GCFR delivers the best of dividends of democracy to the citizens of Nigeria. 

He assured President Tinubu that the Nigeria teachers were solidly behind him, and will contribute their quota in galvanising the education sector towards optimum productivity. 

He further observed that for Nigeria to occupy the desired  pride of place educationally among the comity of nations, the teachers of Nigeria demand a decent pay package, which is the implementation of the  Teachers Professional Salary Structure. 

He added that it will be a morale buster and motivation towards higher performance.

He emphasised that a decent pay will attract best brains into the teaching profession. 

He decried the unfortunate situation where teachers are retiring in great numbers across the states, leaving the classrooms empty and unmanned as a result of the unwillingness on the part of most governors to employ more teachers to teach the younger citizens, who are our leaders of tomorrow.

He bemoaned the situation where more than 10 million Nigerian children of school age are  out  of school sequel to economic and cultural factors. 

He further harped that this trend must be reversed for the collective good of the nation, noting that the efficiency and effectiveness of a nation’s education sector has  great significance and implications in the survival and vibrance of her economy. 

He asserted that for Nigeria not to remain a backbencher in the global community, the present administration must pay adequate attention to the nation’s education sector, especially from the basic level, affirming that any edifice on a faulty foundation is bound to collapse like a pack of cards.

Comrade Audu Amba  described the triumphant emergence of president Bola Tinubu as the Will of God and also enjoined all critical stakeholders in the  Nigeria project to support  the new Administration with  prayers and advices, that would bring about the much desired  positive impact on the lives of the poor Nigerian masses. 

He expressed no iota of doubt that the economic policies of President  Tinubu will be people oriented and will mitigate the current hardship confronting the Nigerian citizens, especially the fixed income earners ,who had fallen as first line  casualties of the hydraheaded inflationionary trend plaguing the country. 

Comrade  Audu Amba  further charged  teachers across the country to upscale their professional services in support of the new administration towards taking Nigeria to the path of total and comprehensive economic recovery.

He stressed that that  teachers have  critical  roles to play in remodeling the education system which is pivotal in nation building.

Finally, he called on all hands to be on deck in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his determination to put Nigeria on the path of economic prosperity.
