The Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) now have a new National Executive Council (NEC) council members with Engineer. Dahiru Ibrahim (B. 1136) as the new President.
Gen. A.J. Kazir (B.1563) and Chief Raymond Ihyembe (B.1733) emerged the new 1st and 2nd vice president respectively while Professor Ahmed T. Mora (B. 2511) retained the position of the Secretary General.
Other executive members are Barr. Haroun H. Audu (B.4108), Alhaji Sani Idris Mailafia (B.2870) as 1st and 2nd Assistant Secretary General respectively while Alhaji Tijjani Musa Isa (B.2544), Mr Marc Ali Mshelia (B.2850), Mallam Lawal Ali Garba (B.4534), Alhaji Mahmud Sulu Gambari and AVM Ibrahim Shafi’l emerged as Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Publicity Secretary, Social Secretary and Legal Adviser respectively.
The new leadership with 19 other NEC members which was decided at the 2016 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which held on the 4th February, 2017 at the Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar assembly hall, Barewa college Zaria will serve from 2017-2021.
In his address at the AGM, the immediate past President Dr. Umaru Abdulmutallab commended members for their support and cooperation and solicited same for the new President.
He also commended the support and guidance of the Board of Trustees (BoT) under the former Head of State, Commander -In- Chief. Of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Yakubu Gowon (B.783).
The new president Engr. Ibrahim in his acceptance speech assured of taking all along and solicited for the cooperation of members towards a greater BOBA.
At the. AGM Elder statesman Alhaji Ahmed Joda represented the Chairman of the occasion Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Kaduna State Alhaji Mansur Adamu represented the Special guest of honour His Excellency Governor Nasir El-Rufai while Alhaji Musa Hassan former Principal of the College and Gado Da Masun Zazzau represented the Royal Host and Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Dr Shehu Idris.
