Chairman of the Kaduna Football Association, Hon Abdulkadir Magaji Kapaka has assured that in spite of cash crunch being faced by the association, they would continue to organize programmes that would develop football in the state.
He gave the assurance, while speaking to newsmen after the closing ceremony of the Kaduna Commissioner of Sports Champions of Champions Cup at the Kaduna Township Stadium on Saturday night.
He explained that though the Champions of Champions Cup had been conceived about four years ago, it could not be staged because of lack of cooperation from previous sports commissioners.
“We have good ideas that can develop sports but are handicapped by paucity of funds. This particular competition’s idea came to me about for years ago but the previous administration did not give it backing.
“We met the present commissioner and he gave us express permission, the result is what we are witnessing today,” he said.
Kapaka said that he was happy that the competition ended successfully without any tragic incident recorded.
“We are happy that we have achieved our aim of this competition which is uniting the youth and developing football. From the beginning to the end, no ugly incident was recorded,” he said.
