3 More Dead Bodies Recovered, 5 Rescued From Lagos Collapsed Building

At least, three additional dead bodies have been recovered from the rumble of the Lagos collapsed building, bringing the total number to four.
Also, five persons have been rescued alive so far, as the rescuing operation  continues.
The building, which was under construction, located within a compound at Alayaki lane on Lagos Island, crumbled during a downpour at about 1.45pm.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu gave the update on the recovered and rescued bodies on Sunday.
According to Osanyintolu, the Lane contains cluster of buildings and the rescue operation will have been hampered with the no space.
” The collapse building under construction was located  within a compound and it was a frame structure as at the time of the unfortunate collapse, the 3rd suspended slab concrete was already in place with ongoing internal partition. 
” Building crumble during a downpour at about 1345hours. 
” The building was bequeathed to the family members and some awarded it to a developer who was converting the bungalow building into 3 storey building before it collapsed. 
” Alayaki Lane contains cluster of buildings and the rescue operation will have been hampered with the no space.
” With the operations, effort is ongoing to get to ground Zero. 
” Though, no one is claiming any of his/her relative is missing. 
” Agencies that participated in operations are  NEMA, LASEMA,  Federal and State Fire Services, NSCDC, Police Disaster Management Unit, Lagos State Police Command , Ambulances and Nigeria Red Cross, the LASEMA PS stated.
