3 Div GOC Appreciates Important Roles Of Teachers

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General Ibrahim Ali has said that teachers play significant roles in inculcating discipline and mentoring youngsters towards a safe and secured Nigeria. 

He made this known  while declaring open a 3-day workshop organised for teachers of Command Secondary School within 3 Division area of responsibility. 

He noted that for peace and security of the people to flourish, there must be a good anchor in children’s education. 

This he said, can be achieved through the teachers’ input which becomes the student’s output. 

He also noted the significance in re-equipping  teachers with the requisite knowledge  to  produce the right and envisioned generation of law abiding citizens.

The GOC further lamented the growing number of youngsters involvement in criminality, drugs and  cultism. 

He appealed to  teachers to be watchful and ensure stringent measures are taken to arrest the menace. 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Acting Director, 3 Division Education, Colonel Nicholas Achikasim noted the significance of the workshop in capacity building of teachers and to reawaken, refresh and sharpen the teaching skills of the participants for the overall benefit of the students and society in general. 

The event which drew participants from the five states under 3 Division, was also attended by Principal Staff Officers at Headquarters 3 Division, the Chairman Plateau State Secondary Board, Secretary Universal Basic Education, Plateau State as well as President Command Secondary School Jos Old Students Association.
