No fewer than twenty five (25,000) thousand members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina state.
The PDP decampees were received by the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Dr Dikko Umar Radda who was in the area as part of his campaign tour to all Wards in the 34 local government areas in the state.
Dr. Umar Radda said so far, he has visited 140 wards and the journey has been very fruitful, describing his visit to Kaita Local Government Area as a “home coming.”
Dr. Radda commended the 25,000 PDP decampees under the leadership of the secretary of “Lado Alheri ne” Alhaji Ado Mani, for their focus to join the “winning party APC. assuring that, they would not regret joining APC.”
Speaking at the Palace of the District Head of Kaita, Sarkin Sullubawan Katsina, Alhaji Yazid Abdulkarim Kabir Usman, Dr Dikko Umar Radda appreciated the massive turnout of people in the local government area to welcome him.
He said going by history, the mutual respect and understanding between his father and Sarkin Sullubawa is still on his mind, that would never be forgotten forever, “hence my father named me Dikko.”
He assured that, if elected Governor of Katsina State, he would improve the living standard of people through several interventions in addition of addressing insecurity in the state.
Dr. Dikko Umar Radda solicited prayers from traditional rulers, Imams, Ulamas and the general public for peace and economic development of the state and the country in general.
Chairman of Kaita Local Government Council, Engineer Bello Lawal Yandaki described the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda as the best and honest candidate, therefore, he charged people in the area to vote wisely for Dr. Dikko Umar Radda.
Responding, District Head of Kaita and Sullubawa Katsina, Alhaji Yazid Abdulkarim Kabir Usman, commended Dr. Dikko Umar Radda for his track records in service while as Chairman of Charanchi Local Government Area and Director General SMEDAN in Abuja.
He described him as a good candidate to be voted for as Governor of Katsina State.
Sarkin Sullubawa, Alhaji Yazid Abdulkarim Kabir Usman assured that, they would continue to offer prayers for peace and unity of the country.
Earlier, leader of the 25,000 PDP decampees, Alhaji Ado Mani said academic and leadership background and qualities of Dr. Dikko Umar Radda as well as the performance of the APC government in the state and federal levels, made them to change from PDP to APC.
The ten wards in Kaita Local Government Area toured by the APC Katsina State gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda include, Yanɗaki, Ƴanhoho, Gafiya, Girka, Abdallawa, Ba’awa, Dankama, Ɗankaba, Matsai and Kaita.
Dr. Dikko Umar Radda was accompanied amongst others, by his running mate, Honourable Farouk Lawal Jobe, the younger brother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, Katsina State Central Senatorial Candidate, Lieutenant Colonel AbdulAzeez Musa Yar’adua, House of Representatives Candidate, Honourable Sada Soli Jibia and Katsina State House of Assembly hopeful, Malam Korkoro Na Buhari.
