Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo is using a fund worth 10 billion Naira in ensuring that one of theirs emerges president of Nigeria.

Secretary General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worlwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro dropped the hint in Kaduna on Monday, when he led other executives on an advocacy visit to leadership of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF).

“Ohanaeze has mapped out N10bn to support any of our candidates that emerge from whichever party be it APC or PDP,” he said.
He explained that building on the relationship that existed between the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and counterparts from the North, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Sir Ahmadu Bello,  they decided the best thing we can do is to interface.
“We know the North with population always play role of kingmaker in Nigeria.
“We have met some traditional rulers and religious leaders.
“We decided to extend hand of friendship to the North. We asked ourselves the questions what happened to relationship between us.
“We have 2.3 trillion worth investments in north. We believe in one NIgeria,” he said.
He insisted that 2023 is the turn of an Igbo to emerge president of Nigeria.
“You have heard that this is turn of Igbo people. It’s not something we fight on the dailies, let us come and have dialogue.

“We need someone who can unite Nigerians. We need support. We want them to look at competency. We have many candidate. We have Amaechi, Okorocha, Umahi, Peter Obi and others committed to serve NIgeria.
“We want the North to come in and look at who can serve NIgeria.
“We are begging the North to look at individuals not the region.
“The North through the AYCF should help us to ensure north plays role of kingmaker,” he said.

In his entourage on the visit, were, Mazi Ogbonna Abasi Ohanaeze Imo State President, Michael Agbo FCT Chapter, Engineer Precious Okpara Coordinator Northern State, Mazi Emmanuel, Niger State and Mazi Michael Ugwuanyi, Nasarawa State.
