Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has  visited Kaduna People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat to canvass votes and support of the party stakeholders ahead 2023 election, saying the opposition ready to take over power from the  ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his entourage were former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa, former Minister of Water Resources, Mukhtari Shagari, impeached deputy governor of Zamfara State, Aliyu Mahdi among other party bigwigs from Northwest Geopolitical Zone.
The presidential hopeful lamented what he described as a near collapse of governance at the centre, urging Nigerians to kick out APC to save the country from  total collapse.
Tambuwal knocked APC for failing to redeem its campaign promises, recalling with nostalgia how well governed the country was under PDP, saying Nigerians were deceived and cajoled by the current ruling party which he noted promised the electorate heaven on earth with nothing to show after seven years in power, other than barrage of problems.
The Former Speaker House of Reps pointed out that the country had been put on autopilot with no defined policy direction other than causing havock and hardship on Nigerians.
Former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa in his speech to party members and supporters urged electorate to rally round Tambuwal to be next President of Nigeria.
Bafarawa counted advantages of Tambuwal to include young age, economic and political knowledge of how best to develop the country, attributes he said were absent in the present occupant of Aso Rock.
Kaduna State PDP Chairman, Felix Hasan Hayet added  his voice to  the call   to allow Northwest  produce the next President of Nigeria, adding that the zone was shortchanged with the death of former President Yar’adua to complete its term under the rotation and zoning arrangements.
He however,  sounded a caveat that he was not campaigning for Tambuwal, that as leader of the party in Kaduna, he would play a dispassionate and fatherly role to all aspirants seeking one elective position or the other.
Hayet declared the readiness of the PDP to take back leadership position at the centre, calling on Nigerians to vote out APC, the party he said, has failed woefully to solve the country’s problems.
