A Civic and Voter Education Forum Community Life Project on Tuesday, warned Nigerians against selling their voting right to anyone in this year’s general elections
Speaking at a town hall meeting for religious organisations in collaboration with the Institute of Church and Society, Samonda, Ibadan, the Amirah of the Federation of Muslim Women, Amirah B.B. Oloso said everyone has a right to cast their votes and refuse to sell their voting right to anyone.
She stressed that there is the need for religious bodies to encourage their followers to vote for credible candidates that will make the country better.
Representative of Women wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Reverend Mrs Bola Ilesanmi emphasized the need for Nigerians to vote for candidates that will bring good polices and desist from collecting money.
Reverend Mrs Ilesanmi also frowned at vote buying, adding that Nigerians should this time around stay away from selling the next 4years in the overall interest of the country.
The leader of Faith for Peace Initiative, Oyo State, Sheikh Tajudeen Alabede talked about voting for leaders that would bring about development and would vote for one that would turn the situation of the country around.
