A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), support group, PDP New Generation, on Wednesday, inaugurated it state and local government coordinators for Kaduna.
The group had last week, unveiled its 25-member National Strategic Committee (NSC), to control campaign narratives and mobilize massively for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and other flagbearers of the party ahead of next year’s elections.
Speaking at the inauguration in Kaduna, Director-General of the group, Audu Mahmood, said the group was created to create a platform for youth.and women to participate actively in politics ahead of 2023 general elections.
“For so long the youths of this country have been marginalized and isolated from participating in governance, this is why we have created this organization to see how we can encourage them and give them a platform to start participating in politics.
“Most of our generation believes, politics is dirty, they believe it’s criminal but we are trying to make them understand that politics is a way of life and that every human being is a political animal.
“So its time for us all to wake-up from our slumber and participate in politics because it is only when we participate in the process that we can be part of the system. We have to be part of the system because the decision of our future has to be made for us by us not for us without us”.
He noted that Kaduna State is PDP and PDP is Kaduna, because the party has structure across all political wards in the state, and representation in all polling units.
“In 2023 we are going to ensure PDP win at all levels in the state 5/5, which means PDP wins from Presidential, Gubernatorial, National to State Assemblies. Mahmood added.
