*vows to sustain peace in the state

Worried by the spate of destruction of political parties bill boards in some parts of Oyo State, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams has ordered full-scale investigations into the alleged destruction of billboards in some parts of the state.
This was made known by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso in a statement issued on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams early Monday.
According to the statement, Oyo Police command will leave no stone unturned in its quest for the sustainability of the relative peace and tranquility enjoyed in the state.
” The Oyo State Police Command under the Constructive leadership of CP Adebowale Williams psc (+) fdc wishes to reiterate its resolve to leave no stone unturned in its quest for the sustainability of the relative peace and tranquility enjoyed in the State”, it said.
Oyo State Police command added, “Consequent upon the above, the Commissioner of Police has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to commence full-scale investigations into the alleged destruction of Party Billboards in some parts of the State over the Weekend by some unscrupulous and criminal minded agents of mischief and anarchy”.
The Command however, warned political big wigs and other stakeholders in the state “to put a leash on their overzealous loyalists and supporters who are driven by the ideologies of enforcing dominance and territorialism through needless aggression and violence”.

The Police command then tasked ” Parents , Guardians and leaders of varying degrees of influence in and across the state to prevail on their wards against being used as Canon-fodder and destructive tools, the Commissioner of Police warned that anyone caught disturbing the peace or inciting violence through deeds or otherwise shall be decisively dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and statutes of the Federation.
Oyo State Police command also called on the people of the state to provide credible and timely information capable of nipping crime at the bud to the Police with the assurances of treating such with utmost discretion.
