The Accord Senatorial candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District and lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Shina Peller, has declared that he is determined to empower his people than engaging in vote buying in  the 2023 general elections.

Hon Peller said this at the distribution of cash palliative ranging from N10,000 to N50,000 to no fewer than 3,000 ageing and widows in his constituency.

The Accord Senatorial candidate pointed out that the donations became necessary to show how much he appreciated the people’s support and loyalty over the years, saying while some politicians will rather be keeping their money to buy votes during the 2023 elections he preferred empowering his people when it is needed.

Hon Peller declared that he is on a rescue mission to liberate the  people of Oke-Ogun from oppressive regime, which have been dominating them over the years.

“Today I decided to empower the majority of my followers, the people of my constituency, not only four local governments I am presently representing but all the 13 local local governments that make Oyo North senatorial district, where I am contesting under Accord in 2023″, he said.

Hon Peller added, ” we are on rescue mission, we want to liberate our people from continuous domination from few people, Oke-Ogun have 10 local governments, while Ogbomoso with 3 local governments has been dominating us for long”.

“I believe so much in giving back to the people, I believe so much in empowering my people most especially at a time they needed it. The happier you make your people, the closer you are to them. This cash empowerment is for aged and widows, and this is not the first time, we did it during the Covid-19. I know some politicians will rather be keeping their money to buy votes but I will prefer doing it now. It is better to do it now when they needed it, to alleviate poverty and to support them”.

Speaking further, Hon Peller said “in the past, I have empowered farmers with farm implements and agricultural equipments. Medical equipments like ambulance were distributed to health centres across Oke-Ogun.

“Two days ago, I distributed 20 branded vehicles, 150 electric cookers, 100 irons, 84 grinding machines, 10 hair dryers, 69 hair clippers, 260 farm sprayers, 10 tricycles, 53 electric kettles, 100 standing fans, 100 gas cylinders, 27 generators, 49 motorcycles, 42 freezers, and 40 sewing machines”.

The beneficiaries thanked Peller for his unequalled benevolence and promised their continuous support, especially in the 2023 general elections.
