The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni deserves and  is qualified for a second term as the governor of the state, following  numerous achievements in developing the state within his first tenure in office.

The Executive Chairman, United Marketers Association of Potiskum  (UMAPO), Alhaji Nasiru Mato expressed this while interacting with newsmen at his office in Potiskum.

According to him, the first tenure of Governor Mai Mala Buni is very impressive, adding that they are very happy with the way he is handling things in Potiskum and  Yobe State at large.

He said, “there is some physical work Mai Mala Buni did, we have about 178 political wards in the state and in each ward, he has done something physically and if you go there, you will see it with your naked eyes accordingly,” he said.

According to him, Yobe State is a place where  majority of the people are farmers and marketers, especially Potiskum, which is largest commercial town in the state, hence there is no local government in the country that has trailers like Potiskum obviously.

Alhaji Nasiru Mato who is also the Chairman Yobe State United Marketers Association, said that Governor Mai Mala Buni has fulfilled all his campaign promises to the electorate in the state, adding that on assumption of office on May 29, 2019, he declared a state of emergency on education, which is yeilding  positive results. According to him, the Buni-led administration rehabilitated existing schools and established six modern and seven mega schools to decongest existing ones and also procured books and laboratory equipment, employed more teachers, trained and re-trained more teachers to enhance manpower to improve quality of education in the state in general.

“Obviously, the Buni administration initiated and constructed four modern markets, Damaturu, Gashua, Potiskum and Nguru as well as a trailer park in Potiskum, all these with a view to creating a conducive environment for trade and commerce for economic development.

“Surely, If the trailer park is completed, it will employ about 5,000 people and also he resuscitated three dormant industries, Yobe Flour and Feeds Mills Potiskum, Woven Sack Company Damaturu and Sahel Aluminum Company Potiskum, all in Yobe State,” he pointed out.

Therefore, he used the forum to call on all the electorate in the state to come out in mass to vote for Governor Mai Mala Buni and all APC candidates, including their presidential candidate, during the coming  general elections 2023.
