The Governorship Candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ebonyi State, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has called on the electorate across the state to register for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to avoid being marginalised in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Chief Odii made the call in Abakaliki, during the inauguration of his campaign office recently.
The guber candidate noted that voters card is very relevant in every election, since it is the only power and right the electorate have to determine who will occupy all the elective positions during the general elections.
He therefore, urged members of the party to eschew differences and work in unity and peace to enable them win the next election.
“I thank the three-man delegate for choosing me during the primaries. I urge all aggrieved members of our party to embrace peace in order to win at all levels in the general elections.
“Politics of disunity will only slow us down over the strategies to win during the election, but we shall overcome them. Let us come together in solidality with a common purpose.
“The goal is to create wealth for the people, which I have been doing. We can transform Ebonyi together and we can do it come 2023.
“I am committed to diversifying the state’s economy and improvement human empowerment for the people if elected as governor.
“To the electorate, go and get your PVCs so that on the day of election, you go out and cast your vote and I believe your vote will surely count” he stated.
Also speaking, his running mate, Sen. Polinus Igwe Nwagu, stated that the only way out of unemployment, poverty and insecurity is to ensure that everybody participates in PVC registration, saying that their voted must count, since the era of rigging is gradually fading away.
“In 2023, our votes must surely count. The era of rigging is over when compared to what happened in Ekiti State election. We will win and we are not going to be intimidated by any group or party.
“My joint ticket with Odii is well planned and we shall strengthen true governance to Ebonyi people come 2023,” he said.
