Ahead of 2023 general election, One of the embattled gubernatorial candidates of people’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Obinna Ogba has assured his supporters of his victory in the forthcoming elections.
Ogba gave this assurance in his campaign office in Abakaliki, calling on members and supporters to remain calm and be well committed and focused on the activities that will guarantee the victory of the party in the next general election.
He further charged them not to be distracted by the litigations and plans of those he described as enemies to scuttle the chance of the party winning the next gubernatorial election in Ebonyi State, stating that he remains the authentic guber candidate of the party in Ebonyi State.
Chief Ogba urged the supporters to do everything possible to register and get their PVCs ready in order not to be disenfranchised during the general election, adding that the challenges before the party, will soon be over as the national body of the party has recognized him as their only guber candidate in Ebonyi State.
It would be recalled that there is a dispute over the validity of the two primaries held on May 28 to 29 that produced Dr. Odi and Senator Obinna Ogba on June 4 and 5, 2022.
While Odii emerged in the first primary held on May 28 to 29, 2022 that was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Ogba has been given a certificate of return by the PDP.
Both candidates are currently in court to determine who will be the flag bearer of the party in Ebonyi State.
