A famous business mogul in Ebonyi State, Dr.Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii has been declared winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial ticket ahead of 2023 general elections.
The primary election which took place at the PDP state secretariat along Abakaliki-Enugu express-way, was witnessed by party stalwarts, stakeholders, candidates and delegates who came for the election.
Announcing the results, the chairman of the electoral panel, Mr.Olalikon Rotimi declared Dr.Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primaries in Ebonyi State having scored a total of 349 votes to emerge winner.
Others aspirants are, Chris Usulor who scored 9 votes; Sunday Opoke, 6 votes; Chukwuma Nwazunku,1 vote and Augustin Nwazunku,1 vote.
Addressing newsmen after the election, the state chairman of the party, Barr. Silas Onu handed over the party flag to the winner of the gubernatorial election, Dr. Chukwuma Ifeanyi Odii saying that the victory is for all Ebonyians.
He also appreciated the electoral panel for the success of the election, noting that the party has come to stay and to deliver Democracy dividends to Ebonyians.
“In my capacity as the chairman of People’s Democratic Party, Ebonyi State, I hereby handover the flag of PDP to Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as PDP gubernatorial candidate for the state,” he said.
In his acceptance speech, the winner of the PDP gubernatorial election, Dr. Odii expressed joy over his victory at the gubernatorial primary election, saying that it is victory for all Ebonyians and it will bring wealth creation and peace in the state and therefore, commended the leadership of PDP in the national and state for the primary election.
“I want to commend the leadership of PDP at the national and in the state who have found me worthy as the guber candidate to represent them for the election coming in 2023.
“By the grace of God, today has marked another great day in the history of Ebonyi State.This victory is for all of us, it is one that will bring about unity. it is victory that will bring about wealth creation in Ebonyi State,” he assured.
