The Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie has tasked celebrities in the country to be a positive influence to electorates as the 2023 election draws nearer.

Speaking in Ibadan at her unveiling as brand Ambassador of SUMAL Foods Ltd, she said in doing this, the time has come for celebrities to  beware of politicians wishing to use them for their personal gain against the overall interest of Nigerians.

Emphasizing that celebrities should always be good ambassadors to Nigerians, Johnson said celebrities are like mirrors which people are watching in taking decisions that will be affecting their lives positively

The Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture to Kogi State noted that celebrities must guide their lovers, fans and follower to the right path, urging them to desist from politicians who are only concerned about their selfish interest and the interest of the masses, 

Speaking further, Johnson described SUMAL product as a family brand which she loves bringing closer to the family because of its quality and hygienic benefits, she said, “do good, if you are doing good, people will like to affiliate with you and take you as their role model”.

” I have made alot of impact in society over the last 21 years, living right, setting the pace and been a good example, we should live right so that people watching us, our lovers and fans can be impacted positively”, she said.

The group General Manager (Accounts) of the company, Akin Akintayo while speaking said the company is known for providing much-needed nutrition to Nigerians, adding that its high quality and trusted brand of over four decades has been saving lives.

Mr Akintayo stated that the choice of Johnson ambassadorship who has been a household name in the Nollywood movie industry for about two decades was because the company shared a lot in common with her, adding that Johnson and her children have been using their products over the years.

He stressed that the partnership with Johnson would further bring special packages and opportunities to Ibadan people and Nigeria at large, adding that she would use her influence to deliver good nutrition to Nigerians.

The company’s National Sales Manager, Sanjay Singh in his remarks said considering the kind of popularity Johnson has gotten across Nigeria and all over the world as one of the most popular actresses, they believed she would be impacted positively by the brand.”
