The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Bauchi State has tasked all other political parties in the state billed to contest the 2023 gubernatorial elections to concede contest of the seat to its candidate, Senator Halliru Dauda Jika whom it argued, is the best among them.
A staunch member of the NNPP, Comrade Haruna Muhammed who made the plea, therefore asked all other governorship candidates in the state to pullout from the race and give youthful Senator Halliru Jika the chance to champion their courses and generally salvage the people from all the challenges confronting them.
Muhammed, a director in the Halliru Jika Gubernatorial Campaign Team, was responding to a Mega Rally organized by over 5, 000 youths in support of Jika governorship aspiration held in Bauchi Thursday, saying the 2023 polls is a stage set for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership of the country.
Comrade Haruna Muhammed explained that the 2023 polls is set for the contest of youthful candidates such as Senator Halliru Jika who were not only healthy enough to steer the ship of their respective elective offices, but were also energetically sound to absorb the rigors of leadership.
The director while urging the youths not to relent in canvassing massive votes for the party’s presidential and gubernatorial aspirations of Senators Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and Halliru Dauda Jika respectively, said the time for the youths to salvage the country from insecurity, economic doldrums, and unemployment trend is now.
Muhammed, who spoke on behalf of Senator Halliru Jika, stressed the need for Nigeria to have a youthful, experience, versatile and revolutionary leaders that could set the country on sound footings for the betterment of all Nigerians irrespective of creed, religion or background.
He described Senator Halliru Dauda Jika as a technocrat cum political expertise who sprang from the grassroots politics onto a state legislator, House of Assembly member, State Assembly Speaker, Reps Member in NASS and now in the upper legislative chamber as Senator representing Bauchi central senatorial district.
Speaking earlier, one of the organizers of the rally tagged “Youths Generational Shift”, Ahmed Siraja Hamza Toro said the youths in Bauchi have every confidence that Senator Halliru Jika would assume the mantle of leadership of the state comes 2023 polls, and urged the electorates not to allow themselves to be lured by money-bag politicians during the forthcoming general elections.
A woman political activist who lend credence to the rally, Hajiya Rakiya Gandu Zalanga said they were holding the event to create awareness among electorate especially the youths, and described Jika as potentially the best candidate in the forthcoming election to take over the governorship seat of the state.
“Rakiya Zalanga said, “Senator Halliru Jika is doing well in terms of developing the youths, women and he is excellence in skills acquisition training to make the youths self-reliance. We are 100 percent ready and determine to through the ballots install Senator Jika our incoming NNPP Governor of Bauchi state”.
